Anthropic introduces ten new Claude templates for financial services, streamlining critical workflows and integrating with Microsoft 365.

#What New AI Tools Did Anthropic Introduce for Financial Services?

Anthropic has enhanced its AI assistant, Claude, by introducing ten new templates specifically tailored for financial services. These templates target some of the most time-consuming tasks within the sector, such as pitchbook creation, credit memos, KYC reviews, financial modeling, and month-end close. By incorporating these templates, financial teams can utilize Claude to streamline their workflows significantly.

The templates are designed to be accessible via plugins in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, in addition to acting as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents. This feature allows teams to deploy Claude for real work in a matter of days instead of months.

Each template is equipped with task-specific skills, governed data connectors, and subagents dedicated to specialized tasks including comparables selection, methodology checks, and document review. This versatility makes them adaptable to various internal modeling conventions, risk policies, and approval processes used by different firms.

#How Does Claude Integrate with Microsoft 365?

One of the significant integrations in this update is Claude’s deeper connection with Microsoft 365. Claude now directly interacts with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word through specific add-ins, with Outlook integration expected shortly. This capability allows Claude to construct financial models from various filings and data inputs in Excel, audit formulas, and perform sensitivity analyses. In PowerPoint, Claude generates presentation decks that automatically update when relevant figures change. For Word, it edits credit memos based on established firm templates, enhancing productivity across the board.

#What Enhancements Were Made to Claude’s Financial Data Ecosystem?

Anthropic is also broadening Claude’s financial data ecosystem by introducing connectors with several reputable data providers, including Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk. Furthermore, Moody's has released an MCP app allowing access to proprietary credit ratings and detailed data for over 600 million public and private companies, further enriching Claude's capacity for credit analysis and compliance.

This advancement signifies a larger movement towards transitioning AI agents from generic chat interfaces into the specific tools and workflows utilized by finance professionals. With Claude Opus 4.7 scoring 64.37% in Vals AI’s Finance Agent benchmark, it underscores Anthropic's positioning of this model as a viable asset for banks, asset managers, and insurers seeking automation and enhanced efficiency.
